About ShareLunker: TX Bass Fishing

ShareLunker: TX Bass Fishing lets anglers submit trophy largemouth bass catch data directly from the water, contributing to scientific research that improves bass fishing across Texas reservoirs. Every catch helps biologists apply cutting-edge genetics and population management to keep Texas bass fishing world-class.

Catch and submit largemouth bass weighing 8 pounds or larger, or measuring 24 inches or longer, any time of year. The app works offline—download before you head out, and you're ready to log your data right at the boat. Once you reconnect, your entry syncs automatically. All participants who submit valid catch information receive a ShareLunker Catch Kit featuring an achievement decal matched to your fish's weight class, plus exclusive merchandise and giveaways.

Anglers landing Legacy Class bass (13 pounds or heavier) gain entry into a special drawing for a $5,000 Bass Pro Shops shopping spree. If you're willing to donate your lunker to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for spawning stock, you'll also be recognized at a dedicated awards event and receive a replica mount of your fish. This partnership between anglers and biologists has driven the ShareLunker program since 1986, making it one of the most respected bass management initiatives in the country.

The app puts essential tools in your hands: store your complete catch history, locate the nearest ShareLunker Station where staff can assist with weighing and proper fish care, and learn proper genetic sampling techniques if you're contributing to the spawning program. You can also upload photos with your catch data, adding visual documentation to your submission. For those interested in the science, the app explains how your data feeds into TPWD's research pipeline and why each catch matters to long-term bass population health.

ShareLunker: TX Bass Fishing makes it simple to be part of something larger than a single fishing trip. Your data becomes data that shapes reservoir management decisions, breeding programs, and conservation efforts across the state. Download the app before your next outing and turn your catch into conservation impact.
